Zimbra – the new UNA email system
Currently, UNA is in an early public testing phase of the configuration of Zimbra we will eventually be using.
If you are interested in exploring Zimbra during the public trial, be aware that the mailboxes you have today, will not be the mailboxes you will have when we migrate from FirstClass at the end of the year.
Zimbra has an excellent library of Help and video tutorials to get you started.
From Logging In and Out, to setting an away message, calendars to address books, there are videos and help documents for a wide variety of topics: Zimbra Tech Centre for Help and FAQ pages:

What’s new with Zimbra and how we recommend Local Execs work
- There will no longer be a conference folder for each local. Each local will now have a shared mailbox and calendar. When using the shared mailbox, once someone reads the email, it will no longer show up as a new email for others. Our recommendation is Local Executives set up a filing structure, with explicit ‘To-do’ folders for each of the Execs. As messages come in, they are either dealt with entirely and filed or moved to the appropriate person’s ‘To-do’ folder so they can easily see new messages.
- You cannot view the history of the message, for example, if it’s been read, who read it and when it was read.
- You cannot ‘unsend a message.’
- You will be able to, in addition to the webmail client, use standalone email clients such as Mail and Calendar on your iPhone and Android phone. You do not have to use a ‘special’ App (this feature is disabled during the beta/preview period).
